Arts and Culture: Calhoun County has three annual festivals: Goat Day (3rd Saturday in October), the Flathead Catfish Festival (May), and Panhandle Folk Life Days (April).

Fishing: The Chipola and Apalachicola rivers and their tributaries are excellent for bream and bass fishing. The Chipola can be accessed at SR 274 west of Altha and is home to the rare shoal bass (Micropterus cataractae). The Middle Apalachicola can be accessed from SR 20 at Blountstown. Some of its tributaries include Old River, Outside Lakes, Equaloxic Creek, Larkin Slough, River Styx, and Kennedy Creek.

Bike routes: The Greenway Trail in Blountstown has four trailheads: Sam Atkins Park Trailhead, SR71 & 11th Street Trailhead, Blountstown Downtown Trailhead, and Neal's Landing Trailhead. The Greenways and Trails website lists hiking trails in the region (www.floridadep.org/gwt/).
