Fishing: The St. Marks, Wakulla, Sopchoppy, and the Ochlockonee rivers are favorites for fishing, as are Wakulla Beach and Spring Creek.

Bike routes: From the trailhead south of Tallahassee, the 16-mile-long, paved Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail follows the route of the former railroad, passing through part of the Apalachicola National Forest on its way to St. Marks on the coast. The trail also extends approximately 5 miles north into Tallahassee. Bicycling, skating, walking, jogging, and dog-walking are permitted on the paved trail. An adjacent trail is available for horseback riding. There is a paved parking lot at the entrance to the trail on State Road 363.
